Man with Van Ealing Modern Slavery Statement
This Modern Slavery Statement is made by Man with Van Ealing in relation to the financial year ending on 31 December. It sets out the steps we are taking to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our operations and supply chains. Man with Van Ealing provides local and regional removal and transport services and recognises that, even in a relatively small organisation, there is a responsibility to identify and mitigate risks related to labour exploitation.
Our Commitment and Zero-Tolerance Policy
Man with Van Ealing maintains a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, and any form of exploitation. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings and relationships. This commitment applies to all individuals working for us or on our behalf, including employees, temporary staff, contractors, and other third parties.
Any involvement in modern slavery or human trafficking is strictly prohibited. Where we identify credible concerns, we will act promptly, which may include terminating relationships, reporting issues to relevant authorities, and supporting affected individuals where appropriate.
Our Business and Supply Chain
Our core services include household moves, small business relocations, and transport of goods across Ealing and surrounding areas. While our direct workforce is relatively small and locally based, we work with a range of suppliers and partners, including vehicle leasing and maintenance providers, fuel suppliers, packaging materials providers, and occasional subcontracted drivers or removal teams.
We recognise that modern slavery risks can exist at various tiers of supply, particularly where goods or services originate from outside the United Kingdom or where subcontracted labour is involved. We therefore take steps to understand and oversee how our suppliers and partners manage these risks.
Supplier Standards and Audits
We expect all suppliers and contractors to uphold the same high standards we set for ourselves. As a condition of working with Man with Van Ealing, suppliers are required to confirm that they do not use forced, bonded, or involuntary labour, and that workers are employed voluntarily and paid fairly in line with local laws.
We are developing and implementing a structured approach to supplier due diligence and audits. This includes carrying out risk-based assessments of key suppliers, requesting information on their labour practices, and, where appropriate, conducting site visits or remote audits. If a supplier is unable or unwilling to demonstrate adequate safeguards against modern slavery, we will review, restrict, or end the business relationship.
Reporting Concerns and Whistleblowing Channels
Man with Van Ealing encourages all employees, workers, and business partners to report any concerns related to modern slavery or unethical labour practices. Reports can be made to line managers, senior management, or through existing internal reporting mechanisms. Reports may be raised confidentially, and we do not tolerate retaliation against anyone who raises a concern in good faith.
We treat all allegations seriously and will investigate them promptly and impartially. Where wrongdoing is identified, we will take appropriate remedial action, which may include notifying relevant authorities, reviewing internal processes, and supporting affected individuals.
Training and Awareness
To reduce the risk of modern slavery in our operations and supply chain, we are committed to raising awareness among our staff. This includes providing guidance on recognising warning signs of labour exploitation, understanding our zero-tolerance policy, and knowing how to report concerns. New starters are introduced to these expectations during induction, and existing staff receive periodic reminders and updates.
Governance and Annual Review
Responsibility for overseeing our approach to modern slavery rests with the senior management of Man with Van Ealing. They ensure that appropriate policies, procedures, and controls are in place and that they are reviewed and improved over time.
This Modern Slavery Statement is reviewed at least annually and updated where necessary to reflect changes in our business, legal developments, and best practice. As part of this annual review, we assess the effectiveness of our actions, consider feedback from staff and stakeholders, and identify further steps to strengthen our prevention and response measures.
This statement has been approved by the management of Man with Van Ealing and represents our ongoing commitment to doing business in a way that respects human rights and promotes fair and safe working conditions.
